Job Description | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director and Kitchen Supervisor assists in the preparation of food, including accompaniment and garnishes in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards guidelines and regulations and JHL established policies and procedures.Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices and established procedures in obtaining ingredients, supplies,utensils and equipment necessary for preparing food as per requisition procedures using standardized recipes. Cleans work area and equipment used in food preparation. |

Skills/Requirements | ||||||||||||||||||||||
High school graduate with at least 1 year cooking experience in food service.Knowledge of cooking and food preparation,garnishes and sanitation.Ability to read, write , speak English.Capable of standing and maneuvering independently and safely around work area and standing on a tile floor for an 8 hr shift.Sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher and to manipulate kitchen equipment , including slicer, chopper, processor, knives, blender and others.Good communication skills and ability to demonstrate a high level of sensitivity and interest in people, especially older adults. |
