As a Director of Market Research and Customer Insights at Go Daddy, you will leverage your passion for helping small businesses achieve their dreams online. Effectively answer the individual needs of our ten million plus small business customers, through effective research and translation of customer insights into actionable business intelligence.  You’ll partner with key stakeholders across the business – sales, marketing, product, technology, and beyond to provide the critical understanding and research support needed.

You will be a leader on our customers: segmentation, targeting, demand moments, brand perception, product affinity / fit, competitors, and the marketplace. Your ability to acquire data and apply research are second to none, as you skillfully leverage primary, secondary/syndicated, and other resources to develop a complete understanding of our customers, competitors, and marketplace.  Championing fact-driven knowledge, you will share key learnings and needs of our customers back into the organization ensuring we continue to grow with and serve our customers. 

In this role, you will:

  • A motivated individual contributor, someone who knows how to ‘get it done’ – whether it means rolling up your sleeves and doing it yourself’ or working through partners/vendors as appropriate
  •  Someone who has performed countless surveys/studies, with a focus on being practical and effective:

o   Skill at translating business needs into survey/research design

o   Extensive experience with sampling approaches and concepts

o   Ability to quickly design research approaches to tackle a broad set of needs, avoiding pitfalls, and rapidly delivering results

  •  An  effective partner with our business at all levels and departments, strong in communication and needs assessment, understanding success comes through helping internal partners achieve their goals
  • Proactively identify opportunities for business-advancing research
  • Lead the creation, management, and application of critical qualitative and quantitative market research that leads to actionable insights
  • Consult and provide critical support to business partners to fully understand their needs, developing research and information sharing approaches to ensure their success: customer growth, improved satisfaction levels, trial/usage, and profitability
  • Present relevant findings and application to audiences spanning the business – from executive level to customer facing support roles; provide regular views into key metrics and facts
  • Develop the market research/customer insights framework and roadmap
  •  Identify and manage external partners/vendors – from RFP to full delivery
  • Leverage your abilities/processes to rapidly create, deploy, and analyze surveys performed internally
  • Creatively leverage all data sources available – social sentiment harvesting, syndicated studies, secondary works, and more to rapidly expand understanding and deliver insight

Do you have what it takes?

  • Five plus years in market research or customer insights
  • Proven competence across the following areas: study design, study delivery/operation,  data evaluation/statistics/modeling, strong understanding of customer and financial performance metrics, and small business/consumer research
  • International research experience a plus
  • Proficiency in business systems and analysis tools (SAS, SQL, survey tools)
  • Outstanding quantitative skills, with the ability to frame business problems analytically
  • Exposure to research and learnings via social media methodologies
  • Ability to influence and present in-group and one-on-one settings
  • Rapid pace of work, capability to jump into any/all stages of the research process to deliver positive outcomes
  • Bachelors degree required, Masters degree strongly preferred
