We are currently seeking Administrative Assistant candidates to work on-site in Detroit, MI.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities
Performs varied, complex and confidential secretarial and clerical duties under limited supervision, requiring a thorough knowledge of policies, procedures and precedents
Reviews, logs, and determines the priority of and routes correspondence
Composes routine correspondence and independently prepares correspondence not requiring supervisor's personal attention
Screens calls, inquiries, and refers visitors to supervisor, when necessary
Responds to complaints and requests for information in relation to the intent, coverage and content of instructions
Supervises, initiates and maintains a variety of files and records of information
Recommends organizational or procedural changes affecting administrative or clerical activities
Performs special projects as directed by the supervisor, including ordering supplies, updating insurance policy, supervising building activity and coordinating work orders and requests
Takes and transcribes dictation from rough draft, shorthand notes or tapes recordings
Maintains office equipment and coordinates service with outside vendors
Prepares charts, graphs and reports, and makes recommendations on presentations as required by the supervisor
Skills/Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at the level required for successful job performance
Ability to independently plan, organize, schedule, coordinate and make decisions and judgments relating to assigned projects and other responsibilities
Ability to establish working relationships and interact effectively with a wide range of people
Ability to prepare clear, concise, thorough, meaningful and grammatically correct written reports, letters, memoranda and other written documents
Ability to type accurately from clear copy at a speed of 60 words per minute (wpm), operate modern office equipment -- including work processors, memory typewriters, photocopiers and facsimile machines -- and to compile and maintain complex and extensive records and files.
