At present GDC is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer for an opportunity in Oshkosh, WI. This position will provide technical leadership to the Computer Services team and will be responsible for planning, deploying, and supporting devices to achieve strategic objectives. Successful candidates will bring proven experience managing desktop/laptop and mobile devices using Microsoft enterprise management tools, packaging and updating 3rd party applications, deploying desktop/application virtualization, and developing and enforcing configuration standards. Excellent documentation/communication skills are mandatory. The Desktop Support Engineer will maintain strong relationships with distributed workstation support groups and will be responsible for coordinating and aligning workstation support efforts Enterprise wide. They will be responsible for developing and promoting standardized configuration and support practices.

  • SCCM PC Image management
  • Level 4 desktop support
  • Microsoft GPO administration
  • Application packaging
  • Windows 7 upgrade support
  • Citrix application publishing
Skills/Requirements
  • Deep technical experience supporting Windows hardware and software client computing platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A deep drive to provide superb customer service
  • Technically savvy on leading edge technologies, and eager to learn new technologies
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Highly collaborative approach
  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor
  • The ability to work independently
  • The ability to provide work direction to a small desktop engineering team
  • 10-20% travel will be required.
  • Associate’s degree and 8-plus years related experience or Bachelor’s degree and 3-plus years related experience
