Fab is seeking a strategic Director of HR located in Pune, India. This role will provide human capital expertise for Fab’s fast-paced technology team, and be part of our global retail organization connecting with headquarters in New York and Berlin.  


The Director of Human Resources will partner with the Chief Technology Officer and support a high performance work environment that enables the successful achievement of strategic business objectives. This will include being accountable for the creation, implementation, communication and administration of the regions human resource programs. The role is part of a global HR team, reporting to the Chief People Officer in the US with a strong dotted line to the CTO in Pune.


The Director of Human Resources will manage all HR areas in Pune, including recruiting, performance management, career and leadership development, employee relations, benefits administration and compensation. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with extensive human resources and leadership experience who is comfortable in a high-energy dynamic environment. There is a strong emphasis on ensuring that the organization is an employer of choice, with a leadership that is willing to invest to do so.  
We are seeking a candidate who:

  • Is capable of bringing the perspective of human resources to strategic business decisions.  He or she will be collaborative, positive, with a good sense of humor, able to think strategically and to execute tactically in a fast-moving environment.  
  • Will provide expertise leadership and organizational development, able to coach highly talented, ambitious managers in how to excel as leaders of people.  She or he will advise the CTO on organizational structure.
  • Will build and deliver retention strategies, integrated talent development plans, and acquisition strategies for best talent
  • Can provide expert guidance on managing complex organizational and people issues, employment practices, policies, and benefits

  • Can develop an effective and efficient employee performance and development feedback process
  • Will provide management coaching to build leadership capabilities and to address and resolve employee issues
  • Can deliver results and measure success through robust HR-KPI reporting and analytics
  • Will align organizational design with business functions to ensure role clarity, scalability and sustainability
  • Will oversee the total compensation system (salary, bonus, equity, benefits) to attract, motivate, and retain employees
  • Can assess individual group training needs and provide 1:1 and group training as required
  • Can provide ongoing support to the leadership team on human resources matters, policies and procedures




Skills/Requirements

 

  • 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher required
  • Minimum of 3 years in a senior HR management role
  • Knowledge of regional employment laws
  • Familiarity with entrepreneurial, start-up environments, and e-commerce a plus
  • Ability to implement process collaboratively balancing feedback while advising on best practice
  • Ability to work and contribute both independently and as part of a business and HR team
  • Proven ability to operate with integrity and build trust-based relationships
  • Ability and willingness to take an independent position and present/defend it while maintaining the respect and confidence of the team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects so that desired results are delivered on time
  • Powerful consultation, influence and persuasion skills
  • Ability to identify issues/problems early on and propose solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally at all levels of the organization, including internationally.
