SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Vice President of Sales & Marketing is responsible for establishing and building the sales and marketing organization as well as providing the leadership to develop and executive a global sales and marketing strategy. S/he will be a key member of the management team and will lead global sales while achieving corporate financial and strategic goals.
Develop and execute strategic and tactical global sales and marketing plan and key target account plan
Develop thorough understanding of product markets, understanding customer's needs and buying decisions, product value propositions, and competitor offerings to successfully launch and build product sales
Oversee market research, forecasts, competitive intelligence, and strategic market assessment
Monitor competitive activity and develop appropriate tactics to respond
Build sales and marketing team to achieve sales and marketing objectives.
Lead the prelaunch, launch and post launch commercial efforts of flavor and fragrance products by creating and implementing market development strategies and tactics including positioning, branding, customer segmentation, professional education, key customer management, developing promotional activities and materials, forecasting and all other aspects of a product launch
Build relationships with key potential customers. Provide strong customer service
Develop and manage sales budget to meet/exceed on a P/L
Meet/exceed sales goals and objectives
Stay current of user trends which may present new opportunities for product. Provide customer feedback into the company for future product developments and enhancements. Participate in strategic partnering discussions on flavor and fragrance products.
Incorporate sales tools to measure sales results and customer service satisfaction
Identify and coordinate sales presentations, exhibits at trade shows and conventions
Present information concisely to senior management and board
10+ years of successful consultative sales, sales management and marketing experience in the flavor and/or fragrance industry with particular emphasis on flavor and fragrance ingredient sales
Deep knowledge of flavor and/or fragrance marketplace and the ability to translate knowledge into growth strategies
Customer knowledge and strong relationships with key decision makers
Specific experience in the successful development and launch of new products within the flavor and fragrance industry
In depth experience in sales leadership and demonstrated record of building and leading stellar teams
Must be strategic and tactical with a track record of gaining increased product and market penetration.
Sound knowledge of sales including forecasting, pipeline management and sales tools
Must have a technical background and be able to understand the Company's technology platform and products
Desire to work in an entrepreneurial, high growth environment
