Job Description

If you want diversity and career growth, think about launching your clinical career at BBA!

Our new Clinical Research Assistant will be expected to grow with our Massachusetts-based clinical research organization. You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with Clinical, Safety, Data Management and Quality and learn the business. Start making a difference knowing that your work will support medical device research to improve the lives of patients. It looks a bit like this:

  • Keep everyone organized and in-line as you review and verify data in clinical protocols, reports, evaluations and other clinical writing works. You’ll need to show off some writing skills to make sure all the work that goes out is of the highest quality. You’ll also need to do some tracking and filing of all the study documents.
  • Have the opportunity to attend meeting with other departments as well as clients and independent physicians to review the status of projects and deliver updates and reports. Help the teams coordinate the meetings and prepare reports and meeting minutes.
  • Assist in the assembly and distribution of required site and study documents in preparation for clinical trial site initiations and investigator meetings, medical meetings, team meetings and prepare and ship study supplies to all study clinical trial sites.
  • Be a great organizer as you handle the ongoing maintenance of clinical trial master file elements such as IRB/EC approvals, renewals, clinical study agreements, CV collection, issuing protocol amendments/ sponsor communications to study sites, etc.
  • Show off your superb attention to detail skills as you work with Data Management to review case report forms, maintain the confidentiality of medical records by removing indentifying information, and track various bits of information.

The position also comes with things like a well-established company, competitive compensation, fabulous benefits, coworkers with a boatload of expertise to share, and a fun environment.

If you can accomplish the above with minimal supervision, you've got what it takes. Realistically though, you need at least a bachelors degree in the life sciences and great interpersonal skills to gain credibility with clients, physicians and regulatory bodies like the FDA. You also need to know ICH GCP regulations and be familiar with clinical protocols.  A fabulous ability to communicate and keep everyone up to date on what is going on across multiple departments and will doctors and clients will be critical. You will be working with patient information, so unquestionable integrity and ethics and a very detail-minded skill set is also a necessity. Oh, and don’t forget a good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and the ability to quickly learn new applications. You will have to occasionally lift supplies or documents that could weigh up to 30 lbs.

We’ve got a great reputation for integrity, quality and out-of-the box thinking in the marketplace and we expect the same from our team. Interested in learning more about your career with BBA? Send us some information about your background!
