Job Description

Athens Technical College in Athens, GA seeks a Data Analyst for our Institutional Effectiveness department. The Data Analyst is responsible for acquiring, managing, manipulating, analyzing data, and reporting the results. 

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Identify, analyze, and interpret student trend data and patterns in complex data sets
  2. Develop and maintain databases as necessary for projects and grant management
  3. Perform basic statistical analyses for projects and grants using SAS, identify gaps, and propose solutions
  4. Create and present quality dashboards
  5. Generate routine and ad hoc reports
  6. Acquire, clean, and abstract data from primary and secondary databases and convert into specified formatting
  7. Report results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of charts, graphs and tables
  8. Identify relationships, trends in data, and factors that could affect the results of research
  9. Analyze and interpret statistical data to identify significant differences in relationships among sources of information
  10. Provide report summary information for uploading to the intranet and/or ATD spotlights, and/or newsletter
  11. Provide assistance to the Director of Research and Assessment and the Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness
  12. Maintain qualifications for employment as required by the state and college
  13. Adhere to the rules and regulations stated in the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and to the policies and procedures of the college
  14. Serve on committees as assigned
  15. Participate in division and college-wide meetings as appropriate
  16. Participate in the college’s staff development program
  17. Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Requirements

The preferred candidate must have a master's in informatics, doctorate or doctoral candidate in statistics preferred; experience extracting and cleaning data from databases and recoding data elements to meet prescribed formats; experience in using SAS to analyze data; experience in SAS SQL; expertise in statistical modeling, statistical programming, and data mining; and a minimum of one year experience in statistical consulting.
