The Product Development Engineer reports to the Product Technology Manager and may be assigned to different projects as business needs dictate. The position is located at our Duncan, SC facility.

 

The Product Development Engineer – Telecom Products is a R&D position that will support the business unit’s core telecom product portfolio.  He/she is required to design new and re-design of current Telecom products to meet customer demands, develop test methods to verify and prove in products meet industry specifications; and complete development and drawings in ProE and transfer to manufacturing.

 

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  1. Design and develop products using ProE
  2. Develop core knowledge of fiber optic apparatus
  3. Gain full understanding of fiber optic product installation and applications
  4. Understand and implement methods and procedures for ProE files for transition to production engineering staff
  5. Prototyping and building design models
Skills/Requirements
  • BS/MS in Materials, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of working experience in product design and development.
  • 3+ year’s working knowledge & proficiency of Pro- Engineer or equivalent software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience making customer presentations
  • ISO-9000 or equivalent quality system working knowledge.
  • Oracle or equivalent MRP/ERP experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Up to 25% travel time
