Job Description

Athens Technical College seeks a full-time Administrative Assistant for the Office of Economic Development Services.  This position is reports to the Vice President for Economic Development Services (EDS) and performs general administrative and clerical tasks and also provides administrative support to the EDS staff.  Examples of duties include: greeting visitors courteously, direct them to destinations, and answer questions on courses being offered; establish and maintain project files assuring compliance in a logical and standardized manner; prepare “Letters of Agreement” for short-term instructors, type and maintain supply of up-to-date and accurate course outlines, handouts, and general information; prepare manuals and modules for classes and programs; working with the registrar and business office on behalf of business and industry clientele; establish and maintain a faculty directory; forward payroll and other expense information to the program coordinator or business office; assist with office research, including the tallying of data on surveys and evaluations and retrieving information on students, instructors, or other topics; assist with bulk mailing efforts; copy and bind course materials; support office as necessary to ensure an attitude of credibility and confidence; attain test center manager/supervisor certification for ACT Work Keys assessments, and other assessment instruments; adhere to the rules and regulations stated in the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and to the policies and procedures of the college; participate in division and college-wide meetings as appropriate; participate in the college’s staff development program; perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Requirements

Competitive applicants will have completed at least one year of post-secondary education in secretarial science, business and office technology, or related field. Microsoft Office experience required. Experience with spreadsheets, payroll, and expense reporting is also required. Experience with BANNER and a Technical College Diploma or Associate Degree is preferred.
