St. John's Episcopal Hospital is recruiting for Registered Nurses for our Critical Care Units.  As an RN you will deliver patient care by assessing and diagnosing the patient's condition, developing a plan of care and evaluating the patient's response to care.  You will utilize all components of the nursing process in providing care that reflects an understanding of individual, cultural and religious diversity needs, and recognition of patients' rights. You will utilize knowledge and expertise in case management to provide comprehensive, coordinated, seamless care to individuals and aggregate groups. This role coordinates, integrates and facilities the patient/provider relationship along the continuum of care.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provides and/or delegates patient care according to the plan of care and established protocols
• Conducts clinical rounds, provides emergency care and administers medications to patient
• Performs the responsibilities of charge nurse and preceptor according to established protocols, as assigned.
• Documents patient care, as required on all appropriate forms

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• BCLS, ACLS or PALS, as required by department.
• Previous Emergency Room, Critical Care or Telemetry experience is required.
