We are currently seeking a Showroom Sales Associate on a part-time basis to interfaces with customers in person or by phone, record customer information, and enter order requests into computer.  As the Part Time Sales Associate you will work 25-30 hours per week and be responsible for:

 

  • Talking with customers in person, by phone, or by email in a professional and courteous manner. Using the computer to:

                 Look up records and enter customer information.

                 Process sales orders for parts and accessories.

                 Process catalog requests.

                 Answer customer questions and deliver customer service.

                Determine and communicate prices for parts requested.

                Process change of address information.

                Process order cancellations and changes.

                Process customer requests for walk-in orders. (Items ready for customer pick-up).

  • Stamping, attaching, or changing price tags on merchandise, referring to price list.
  • Stocking, organizing, and cleaning storage areas and displays with  merchandise.
  • Setting up advertising signs and displays merchandise on shelves, counters, or tables to attract customers and promote sales.  
  • Cleaning display cases, shelves, and aisles.
  • Greeting customers into the showroom, and personally assisting in helping to find/identify products for purchase.
  • Receiving payment for parts, and processes/obtains credit authorization, wrapping/bagging merchandise for customers.
  • Regularly soliciting sale of feature, cross-sell, and up-sell products to customers, including Gold Club Memberships. 
  • Displaying the ability to arrange current and new merchandise within the Showroom in the manner described by the showroom Supervisor.
  • Completing any follow-up calls necessary to ensure complete and accurate customer service.
  • Displaying strong product knowledge, developing depth in product knowledge, and regular use of J&P Cycles catalog, vendor catalog, and web resources to display reduced reliance on Sales Technicians for identification of part fitment.
  • Displaying an understanding of, and the ability to, process international customer orders 
  • Addressing complaints and customer concerns, and bringing them to the attention of assigned Supervisor for further investigation and consideration. 
  • Performing outbound calls to respond to customer emails, answering requests delivered by third party vendors, gather missing information, and advising customers of parts on backorder or discontinued items.
  • Displaying product knowledge, developing the regular use of J&P Cycles catalog, vendor catalog, and web resources to display reduced reliance on Sales Technicians for identification of part fitment.
  • On an as-assigned basis, aiding with processing of the showroom deficiency report. 
  • Displaying flexibility in work schedule according to the retail store hours, which may include nights, weekends and possible holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Previous telephone sales or parts sales experience is a plus, but not required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
