About the Position:
We are looking for outstanding candidates to support the TechBridge Program (current or recent MBA, MS, or PhD). This is an opportunity to work in one of the world's leading research organizations, developing a novel platform for commercializing alternative energy technologies and international technology transfer. Fellows typically go on to find successful employment in leading organizations because of the practical and unique experience acquired at Fraunhofer CSE.
The TechBridge Fellow’s primary objective is to identify early stage energy technologies and develop technical development plans to meet market needs. Reporting to the TechBridge Program Director, you'll be a key part of an energetic, innovative and dynamic team that shares a commitment to engineering excellence, combined with a passion for sustainable energy technology. You will be exposed to both technical and business aspects of energy technology innovation, working with and learning from a team that complements your own background and experience.


Principal Responsibilities:

 

  •  Identify channels of pre-qualified energy startups that face development  challenges
  •  Perform market research and analysis to provide feedback for energy business  plans
  • Scope of work development with lead CSE engineers to address industrial andgovernment client       R&D needs
  •  Develop a business plan around promising energy technology from Fraunhofer  or another research lab
  •  Identify opportunities to fund and establish cleantech startups at your university  via the TechBridge program

Preferred Experience and Education:

  •  Required: Excellent communication and writing skills
  •  Required: Engineering or science undergraduate degree
  • Strongly preferred: Previous experience in business development, sales engineering or management of technical projects involving outside parties
  •  Strongly preferred: Current or recent MBA, MS, or PhD
  •  Preferred: 3+ years of industrial experience directly related to energy-related technologies
  •  Preferred: Experience in market research and business plan development

Eligibility:


In order to qualify, fellowship applicants must be enrolled in a post-secondary academic institution OR have graduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to their fellowship program start date.
