The Senior System Administrator within the Hosting Operations team is responsible for performing Linux system administration on physical and virtual Linux servers.  This position support the Linux shared hosting, Linux Virtual hosting and Linux Grid hosting platforms in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.  This position interfaces with the engineering, development and operations teams.

What does the job entail?

·         Manage server builds and server retirements ensuring processes are documented and automated

·         Analyze, review and manage capacity for the specific server types to support ongoing customer requirements and new product launches.

·         Analyze, design, test, modify, create and deploy server / tool automation to support efficiencies within the department

·         Document daily shift activities in the appropriate reporting tool and ensure proper pass down of any outstanding issues

·         Manage tickets (incidents, problems and requests) within SLA as required

·         Perform duties on a rotating 24 / 7 / 365 on-call schedule as required

Do you have what it takes?

·         Four year college degree in technology related field or equivalent experience is required.  

·         Significant experience with Red Hat linux distros (RHEL, Fedora, CentOS)

·         Experience with Virtualization technologies (Virtuozzo, VMWare, etc.)

·         Experience with Apache, Plesk, scripting and automation (PHP, BASH, Perl), networking (firewalls, load balancers, etc.), web server security and other technologies such as caching, monitoring and performance tuning.

·         Experience with monitoring technologies including SNMP and MWS.

·         Experience with Server builds and automation in a large (1000+ server) and complex hosting operations environment

·         Exposure with SAN and NAS technologies (iSCSI, FCP, CIFS, NFS, etc.)

·         Ability to work and derive creative and practical solutions and complex problems in independent work environment
