Job Description

Kanes is offering an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Associate who will provide a variety of maintenance services pertaining to our facility, company automotive vehicles
and warehouse equipment/vehicles.

This will include:

  • Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently,or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straight-edges.
  • Paint or repair windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Align and balance new equipment after installation.
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments.
  • Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts.
  • Install equipment to improve the energy or operational efficiency of residential or commercial buildings.
  • Performs other related maintenance functions as required.




Skills/Requirements

Qualified candidates will:

  • Have hands-on genneral experience pertaining to maintaining industrial equipment, general building maintenance, and general automotive/mechanical maintenance.
  • This will include general construction, fabrication, and electrical experience.
  • Candidates must possess hands-on skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of various jobs to include: operating equipment used in skilled trades, power and hand tools, etc.; adhering to safety practices; handling hazardous materials; and planning and managing projects.
  • Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of the position which include significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity.
  • Must be a dependable self-starter and able to work a flexible work schedule.
  • Candidates must have a valid driver's license and the ability to pass MVR check and requirements.
  • All candidates for employment at Kanes Furniture must be able to successfully pass criminal background check and drug screening

This position will be based in our Corporate Headquarters/Distribution Center located at 5700 70th Avenue North, Pinellas Park, FL 33781
