Based on the program’s vision and mission, the Google Food Team has developed a clearly defined strategy that strongly emphasizes collaboration, innovation, the Responsible Business framework, and behavioral sciences.

 

The Marketing, Communications and Engagement (MCE) team exists to support this client’s global food program and to communicate its values both to users and to vendor partners.

 

Role summary

Bon Appétit at Google is hiring a Creative Copywriter to join the MCE team. This person will report directly to the Global Art Design Manager. The right candidate will be energized by supporting creative efforts from conceptual development to project completion and will work collaboratively with other team members to deliver creatively on marketing campaigns, storytelling and creative writing projects, design roll-outs and other client needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop original, creative and engaging copy for a range of print and digital media, including campaign collateral, partner- and user-facing training materials, articles, video scripts, newsletters and proposals.

  • Create scaleable content that speaks and appeals to our users and different target markets across the globe.

  • Effectively collaborate and maintain strong relationships with teams across the business (Regional Food Service Managers, the global Google Food team, partner leadership team, Compass Global team, and the MCE team both locally and globally).

  • Provide new recommendations for and actively support the further evolution of the Google Food Program’s brand.   

  • Copy-edit existing content to ensure consistency with the brand voice.

  • Create, define and oversee multiple creative projects and additional duties on competing timelines and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Manage relationships and long/short-term projects with external creative agencies.

  • React quickly to client feedback and proactively make adjustments to projects when needed.

 

 

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years writing experience (culinary and/or food writing a plus)

  • Exceptional spelling, grammar and punctuation skills; strong attention to detail

  • Familiarity with commonly used style guides

  • Versed in emerging creative digital content technologies, platforms and best practices

  • Strong understanding of visual communication and the design process

  • Experience interacting directly with client stakeholders

  • Self-starter who can work well both independently and across multi-level stakeholder groups

  • Strategic thinker with a proven track record of seeing projects through from concept to post-mortem

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, startup-like environment

  • Agency experience preferred, with clear understanding of relationship-building with client organization

  • Interest in food, commerce, culture, and new advertising trends and techniques
