Catering Sales Specialist- Denver West, CO Apply

The Catering Sales Specialist is the field sales leader for catering and delivery. You are responsible for planning, developing and growing catering sales within one or more assigned regions inclusive of all industries in B2B as well as building catering sales with B2C. You must display and coach sales behaviors to achieve sales targets of catering and delivery, to help establish/maintain Red Robin as the choice for catering. 

Duties Include:

  • Works directly with Catering Sales Manager, Regional Operations Director and Catering Coordinator(s) to achieve sales quota/target as set by Director of Catering and Red Robin
  • Increases sales in all restaurants in assigned territory to meet budgeted sales plan
  • Forecasts future catering opportunities to reach business plan goals
  • Effectively executes all steps in the established sales cycle process
  • Develops and produces hot leads provided by CRM and other lead sources
  • Improves local store catering sales for assigned market and build brand loyalty to Red Robin through different mediums, following the sales process and utilizing assigned sales tools
  • Targets all new, core, active, at risk, lost and historical contacts provided from the CRM database
  • Explores all major events and activities throughout the market, primarily via telesales techniques, to identify sales opportunities
  • Plans menus, orders, and deliveries with Guests and uses the opportunity to utilize suggestive selling techniques and reinforce Red Robin’s quality products and services
  • Creates new opportunities and maintains CRM database
  • Utilizes reports to track sales results such as customer’s frequency, sales, and average sales per order and analyzes current trends to maximize sales results
  • Completes calls to all new Guests and log by close of business on Fridays each week
  • Keeps supervisor abreast of progress through daily activity logs, phone calls, attending weekly conference calls and scheduling events in team calendar
  • Maintains on-going contact with catering Guests to build sales through thank you letters and follow-up calls seeking sales feedback on orders and referrals
  • Effectively demonstrates required sales techniques to build sales and provide ongoing support of the customer and gain repeat orders
  • Ensures customer complaints are resolved by investigating problems, developing solutions, and makes recommendations to Catering Sales Manager, Director of Catering
  • Drives from residence to conduct field day, canvassing in assigned trade area and meeting face-to-face with Team Members a minimum of 1-2 times per week or as sales dictate
  • Takes sample boxes from Red Robin restaurant to execute tastings with potential Guests as needed to include site visits and transportation of food     
  • Manages the sales cycle, quotas, customer follow-up and service requests for all Guests
  • Manages multiple projects at once

Physical Effort: 

  • Position requires driving, sitting, bending, reaching, stooping, climbing, walking, repetitive motions, cognitive skills, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs, standing and moving throughout the entire shift
  •  Far and night vision required for driving

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years catering sales experience, preferred
  • Knowledge of CRM system such as Salesforce, Sales Cloud, Monkey Media
  •  Associate’s degree or higher preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record absent restrictions that do not pose safety risks given the essential job functions
  • Have a reliable vehicle and proof of auto insurance
  • Energetic, friendly attitude and exceptional guest service skills required
  • Must be able to perform basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) 
  • Must be able to effectively and concisely communicate, read and write the English language fluently and clearly
  • Must have excellent listening skills
  • Ability to convert leads to recognized revenue
  • Ability to accept responsibility and be accountable for decisions and actions
  • Has strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant and catering
  • Relies on experience and judgment to make effective decisions
