New Restaurant Openings Director Apply
CO - Greenwood Village (Home Office)

Based at our Greenwood Village Home Office, you are responsible for opening approximately seven new RRGB restaurants each year. You are responsible for preparing each of their assigned restaurants to open successfully and provide a great Team Member and Guest experience. You are responsible for ensuring a smooth transition throughout the entire opening process including, turnover from D&C, training and opening, normalization and handoff to the ROD. This position is remote. 

Duties Include:

  • Successfully partner with the restaurant GM and managers, including the ROD, to ensure a successful opening
  • Work with ROD to ensure the management team has a good development plan and is prepared for the new restaurant opening (NRO)
  • Collaborate with D&C on a successful turnover and completion of punch list
  • Work side-by-side with the Training Leads to create a positive environment for the management team and Team Members to learn and to set the restaurant up for success
  • Provide feedback from the field on which tools and techniques are effective, and where are opportunities exist
  • Ensure great shift execution                                       
  • Cultivate strong teamwork between D&C, Operations, and the NRD Department
  • Review and monitor NRO pre-open budgets           
  • Identify and communicate best practices to ensure continuous improvement of NRO operations and procedures
  • Provide status reports on NROs to Director of NRD
  • Monitor the Team Member and Guest experience metrics and implement changes where necessary
  • Monitor and approve expenses and budgets for the support team
  • Ensure NRO management is executing standards as defined by Red Robin   
  • Develop the management team and provide support during the opening period
  • Assist the GM with management duties
  • Conduct weekly check-in calls with the GM to ensure the restaurant is on track
  • Work with the opening team on-site from six days prior to opening to 23 days after open

Requirements: 

  • Minimum two years of NRO experience, preferably in multiple roles
  • Two years GM or other management experience
  • Bachelors degree or 5 years management experience in the restaurant industry
  • Has Red Robin NRO experience in multiple roles
  • Thorough understanding of the current NRO process
  • Can manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effectively builds and manages processes and systems
  • Can build, analyze, and monitor budget and financial data
  • Knows and understands Red Robin systems
  • Has a thorough knowledge of Red Robin’s culture and how to maintain it
  • Availability for extensive travel – 75% to 80% of the time, for periods up to 3 weeks at a time
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to supervise multiple Team Members in remote locations
