Job Description

<p>
Reporting to the Senior Vice President-Human Resources, and based in the Corporate Headquarters in Norwalk, Connecticut, the Director is responsible for the development, administration, implementation, monitoring and improvement of HomeServe USA&rsquo;s learning and development programs, related training programs and initiatives.</p>
<p>
<strong><u>Key responsibilities:</u></strong></p>
<p>
Program Management/Capability Development:</p>
<ul>
<li>
Responsible for the development and oversight of all training programs.</li>
<li>
Direct all corporate wide training programs and special courses, OLS, Management Training, and Supervisor/Leadership Development.</li>
<li>
Manage, design and continually improve/update capability development programs</li>
<li>
Research and implement best practices in order to design appropriate organization-wide solutions.</li>
<li>
Manage and continuously improve programs that are required for all mandatory corporate training programs that will increase the capability of our client base; regulatory &amp; compliance, discrimination, sexual harassment.</li>
<li>
Responsible for the oversight of areas, programs and functions to ensure standards are met and records are properly maintained.</li>
<li>
Drive innovative strategy for new branding and facelift of existing curriculum by analyzing all existing curricula to change and update where appropriate.</li>
<li>
Increase individual and team effectiveness by creating and distributing training and development resources, learning and process documentation to employees.</li>
<li>
Serve as role model and coach by working with staff in the creation of personal development plans that will increase their development and career growth.</li>
</ul>
<p>
Operational:</p>
<ul>
<li>
Oversee operational aspects including maintaining budget areas, vendor management, tracking learning events, activities and programs/project management. This includes direct management responsibility for all vendor contracts, negotiations, course design, etc.</li>
</ul>
<p>
Communication &amp; Collaboration:</p>
<ul>
<li>
Work collaboratively as a member of senior HR team to plan, manage and oversee all employee development projects delivered by the center for employee excellence, including effective prioritization and distribution of competing work activities and demands that may inhibit optimal performance</li>
<li>
Confer with client groups to define and create training and development needs and solutions.</li>
</ul>

Skills/Requirements

<p>
<strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
8+ years in an HR/L&amp;D function, 3-5 at management level leading development of blended learning solutions.</li>
<li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Adult Education and/or related field.</li>
<li>
Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of the following: instructional design, assessment and evaluation, talent management, leadership development, change management, career and succession planning, small and large group facilitation, presentation skills, vendor management.</li>
<li>
Decision Making and results orientation -- Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze problems, exercise independent judgment, when appropriate, resourcefully innovate, recommend and lead effective courses of action.</li>
<li>
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, performance consultation, negotiating, and business skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships within the company and business community.</li>
<li>
Demonstrated strong Training and Mentoring/Coaching skills. Strong ability to work collaboratively across teams, regardless of reporting boundaries, to manage up/down/across respectfully.&nbsp;</li>
<li>
Strong planning, organizing, and execution skills - experience managing range of concurrent large scope projects.</li>
<li>
A track record of success in managing programs/processes to develop capabilities across staff.</li>
<li>
Intermediate PowerPoint, Word, Excel.</li>
<li>
Demonstrated ability to build learning and development programs from the ground up and to engage in hands-on execution of programs.</li>
</ul>
<p>
<strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
Master&rsquo;s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Adult Education and/or related field.</li>
<li>
Experience with Change Leadership, Organizational/Leadership Development, Performance Management and individual effectiveness across all levels in the organization.</li>
<li>
Experience in diagnosing organizational problems, then planning and carrying out appropriate interventions.</li>
<li>
Ability to lead an organization in a highly dynamic and changing environment.</li>
<li>
Demonstrated record of outstanding success within a service organization where innovation, collaboration and customer service are high priorities.</li>
<li>
Strategic thinking and creativity and flexibility in addressing future challenges in alignment with long term growth and profitability goals.</li>
<li>
Ability to delegate responsibility while holding others accountable to rigorous performance objectives.</li>
<li>
Experience with e-authoring tools/SharePoint/social media experience.</li>
