Position Overview

 

Skillsoft is currently seeking a talented Inside Sales Consultant to join our Compliances Solutions team.

We are seeking an ambitious, results-oriented team player interested in advancing his/her career with a global leader in e-learning. The Compliance Solutions Inside Sales Consultant will focus on new account acquisition as well as existing account growth within a defined territory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for using primary and secondary research techniques to extensively research prospect accounts, identify and confirm key players, nurture prospects to develop solution interest, discover business priorities and requirements, and drive defined sales cycles to close.  In addition, the Inside Sales Consultant will be responsible for developing a pipeline for new account acquisition and must have the skills to walk prospective clients through the entire sales cycle beginning with prospecting and concluding with a customized business solution for a new customer.

Position Responsibilities

 

The Inside Sales Consultant will report to the Scottsdale-based Inside Sales Manager and work frequently with the field-based Regional Sales Vice President and field-based Regional Account Executives.  This position will also have interaction with Product Marketing, Sales Support and Customer Service teams.  Additionally, the inside sales team is highly collaborative, partnering with peers to review account strategies and drive performance

 

Prospecting activities include

 

Collaborating with field sales team to perform research and other intelligence gathering in support of prospecting activity

 

Conducting proactive outbound contact campaigns (phone and email) to dive deeply into existing prospects

 

Closely monitoring and assessing prospects as they move through the sales pipeline

 

Support regionalization of select marketing demand generation activities

 

Contact, qualify and nurture inbound leads generated by marketing campaigns

 

Develop, maintain, and grow an ongoing personal sales pipeline

 

Utilize professional selling expertise and business acumen to meet and exceed individual sales targets within a broad geographic sales territory

 

Deliver customer presentations that articulate the Skillsoft Compliance value proposition

 

Manage ongoing customer satisfaction

 

Use CRM tools to institutionalize account information and provide organizational visibility into activities and intelligence

 

Desired Skills and Experience

 

Prefer 3+ years of successful direct sales, telesales, or sales support experience, compliance/B2B preferred

 

Proficiency with gathering intelligence through primary and secondary sources, including Lexis/Nexis, Jigsaw, other online resources, and telephonically

 

Understanding of GRC, ES&H, and food services compliance training market preferred

 

Experience and comfort with prospecting/cold calling to build a qualified pipeline of potential customers

 

Consultative sales strength – be able to identify problems and recommend solutions that articulate the link between customer problems/initiatives and compliance solutions to develop a unique value proposition

 

Must be self-motivated, hard-working and operate with a high sense of urgency

 

Extremely organized and detail-oriented

 

Flexible attitude, with an ability and willingness to multi-task

 

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization; strong people skills with an ability to work with cross-functional teams

 

Professional business acumen

 

Experience using sales CRM systems

 

Desire to pursue a career in field sales

Education and Certifications
