Scope: Responsible for efficient, safe and sanitary plant Production Department. This position will lead the production team activities and promote a well trained and motivated team. The Production Manager will ensure that the production team operates in a safe, efficient and effective manner ensuring that our customers consistently receive product at the quality level expected.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the production team leaders and team members in the manufacture of multiple lines of production
- Leads human safety and food safety initiatives
- Tracks key indicators of the production team's performance including safety, efficiency, waste, downtime, labor costs, and industrial accidents and communicating these indicators to the team for further action
- Recognizes areas of needed performance improvements
- Organizes production activities in timely and cost-effective fashion to ensure that internal and external customer needs are met
- Participates as an active member of the Plant leadership team
- Attends meetings when required
- Interviews job applicants
- Ensures that all production requirements are met cost-effectively and safely
- Communicates the importance of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliance
- Supports facility audits
- Supervise and motivates team members by setting a good example with regard to attitude, work quality, safe practices, attendance, follow-through and organization
- Expertly trains or arranges training for assigned personnel on production-related topics
- Monitor performance and provides vacation approval for team leaders (and team members as needed)
- Mentor and coach team leaders and team members on improving performance Provide performance counseling as needed
Skills/Requirements
Education and Knowledge Requirements:
- A post secondary degree is required or equivalent related work experience.
- Additional training such as AIB training or related industry training is a plus
- Requires a minimum of 5 years in a production management role.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Advanced verbal, reading, writing, mathematical and cognitive skills

- Ability to effectively collaborate with other senior managers to achieve

- Demonstrated skill in coaching, leadership and team development
Travel Requirements: Must be willing to travel up to 10% including overnight travel
Working Conditions: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
