Parmatech- RI is based just outside East Providence, RI and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ATW Companies and a leading manufacturer of custom manufactured metal injection molding components. Metal Injection Molding (MIM) is a low cost, high volume manufacturing process that produces parts to near net shape, reducing or eliminating the need for secondary and machining operations.

The Material Handler will perform a combination of tasks including but not limited to: preparation of powder for mixing such as milling, blending, and weighing to ensure manufactured batches contain proper ingredients and quantities. Mixes all feedstock and performs feedstock characterization. Organizes and maintains all receiving, filling, shipping, and inspecting orders accurately and in a timely manner. Efficiently and safely loads, unloads, and conveys materials.

  • Receives, locates, and transfers all incoming raw materials accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensures all necessary paperwork is included for later certification.
  • Organizes and maintains storage and inventory areas for all raw materials and feedstock.
  • Organizes and maintains gas storage area. Receives, distributes and picks up gas bottles from their areas of use.
  • Tracks inventory levels, informs Laboratory Manager when minimums are reached.
  • Opens containers utilizing hand tools as needed; counts and weighs materials and records information.
  • Identifies damaged materials and records material shortages.
  • Does density determination for all powder and feedstock received.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto and from a variety of containers including but not limited to trucks, conveyors, racks, pallets, and/or trays; utilizes appropriate tools to accomplish task.
  • Prepares appropriate powder prior to mixing such as milling.
  • Mixes all feedstock.
  • Operates all equipment associated with feedstock preparation including programming scales and mixers.
  • Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, elevator and/or company truck or van.
  • Stacks and assembles materials.
  • Organize and maintain ceramic and metal mix rooms.
  • Maintains a safe, clean working environment.
  • Participates in quality improvement efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One to two years related experience or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with shipping practices and mixing/handling methods.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Respiratory certified.
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Solid English language skills both written and oral

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply 'common sense' understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
