Job Description

A.T. Wall Company (Wall) is based in Warwick, RI and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ATW Companies. Wall’s history dates back to 1886 when it was founded in Providence, RI as a supplier of metal findings to the Jewelry industry. Wall has developed to become a leading supplier of seamless cold-drawn specialty tubing and stamped metal components. The company is an ISO 9001:2008 registered custom manufacturer who stocks tubular raw material in a broad range of materials and serves customers in demanding markets such as Aerospace, Electronics, Telecommunications and Medical industries. The Process Engineer will be asked to prepare detailed working diagrams and handle documentation of machinery, tooling, and mechanical devices. This includes process development, dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information. Equipment will include presses and automated equipment.





Skills/Requirements

DEAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years experience in a High Mix/Low Volume Production Environment
  • ISO 9001-2000, QS 9000 Experience
  • Knowledge of progressive die stamping, plasma weld, and cold draw methods a plus
  • Knowledge of SPC and other TPM activities
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of Project Management, KanBan, One-Piece Flow, Routing, Bills of Material, and Visual Manufacturing
  • Microsoft office and Visio experience
  • Remain current with industry knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong problem solving, root cause analysis skills
  • Strong technical documentation skills

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for the upkeep, upgrade and acquisition of facility and production equipment.
  • Research and development of new manufacturing processes and products.
  • Develop asset management strategies for machine performance upgrades or new capability assessments and develop requirements for input into the capital planning process.
  • Provide mathematical/data driven analysis for effective decision-making and input into process improvement methodologies, resource allocation, system design, materials management, and other production issues.
  • Identify and implement new processes for all manufacturing lines.
  • Refine current manufacturing process to improve profitability
  • Facilitate continuous improvement/ Lean projects
  • Analyze and investigate related specifications, process, and work operation to detect, eliminate, and prevent recurrence of potential causes of non-conforming product • May perform other duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

READING SKILLS: Ability to read, write and comprehend materials in English.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply 'common sense' understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
