Job Description
Title: Biotechnician Department: Production Location: Columbia, MD Type: Full-time
Job Summary Employee will carry out manufacturing practices in a cGMP biotechnical facility. The job involves the manual processing of porcine urinary bladders, which includes all aspects from collection of raw materials to packaging of the final product. Following training, work will be expected to be performed independently to a high degree of standard in biomaterial handling.
Principal Responsibilities
? Collection of raw materials
? Rinsing and initial cleaning of raw materials upon receipt
? Separation and removal of unwanted tissues
? Disinfection
? Preparation of storage and cleaning solutions
? Documenting and tracking materials and solutions
? Keeping track of when supplies become low or need to be purchased
? Making suggestions that would improve the work environment or material processing
? Processing raw materials for final product including, but not limited to cutting/trimming to size, lyophilizing, and packaging
? Performing other tasks as needed
* Work is performed in a clean-room environment; full gowning is required.
Required Education and Experience
? A minimum of a high school degree or GED; prior experience or related education is a plus.
? Prior clean-room experience preferred
