Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Fuels Specialist is to profitably grow the residential propane and heating oil business. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Sales:

  1. Lead the sales effort to grow residential fuels accounts and volume.
  2. Encourage and motivate Division employees to contribute to lead generation and sales efforts.
  3. Achieve planned dollar sales, gallon, and margin goals.
  4. Work with the Bulk Plant Manager and General Bulk Plant Manager to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies.
  5. Establish relationships with customers by making on-site visits for new and existing customers identifying specific needs, and recommending energy solutions.
  6. Maintain good technical knowledge of propane; tank storage sizing, tank and regulator locations and safe installation practices with appliance venting codes.    
  7. Elevate NOCO’s presence in the community through personal involvement.
  8. Assist as needed with selling at home shows, fairs or community events.
  9. Training provided to company's standards.

Customer Service:

  1. Play a leadership role in increasing heating oil and propane sales.
  2. Work with the Sales Management Staff to establish marketing strategies including; local communication, direct mail, advertising, promotions, event participation and local contributions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiar with propane installation, delivery procedures, fuels, trucking and fuel handling procedures is preferred.
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to energize and lead employees.
  • Energetic approach to customer base and profit growth.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Ability to use good judgment, problem solve, and makes sound decisions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of fuels, trucking and fuel handling procedures.
  • Time management skills.
