Job Description

GuideOne Insurance is a nationally recognized Property and Casualty Insurance company that provides insurance to houses of worship, senior living communities and educational institutions. We also offer homeowners, personal auto and renters insurance.

We are currently seeking an entry-level Programmer who;

  • Works well in a collaborative environment
  • Desires to develop and maintain applications in leading technologies
  • Has strong problem solving skills

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop new code, maintain existing code and document software applications
  • Demonstrate understanding of departmental procedures, programming standards and all pertinent training materials
  • Follow written/oral instructions prepared by analysts
  • Gain working knowledge and demonstrates understanding of programming tools
  • Perform testing processes to ensure accuracy of code

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Property Casualty Insurance knowledge a plus
  • Must be able to work in a team environment following company Software Development Life Cycle standards
  • Relational database and SQL knowledge     
  • Visual Studio IDE and/or Visual Studio Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) experience a plus,
  • Experience or understanding of the following desired:  C# and/or VB or JAVA, SQL Server Management Studio, SharePoint, Excel, Microsoft BIDS toolset
