Position Overview:

Restaurants Unlimited, Inc. is looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Finance team and work in a dynamic and fun environment in the fast-paced restaurant industry. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of Finance experience including time in Financial Planning & Analysis function and creating Financial and Management reporting for Leadership. Successful candidate will be a team-player with strong-to-advanced Excel skills and who is detail-oriented and excited to contribute to the success of RUI.

The Financial Analyst contributes to RUI success by auditing and assessing restaurant business trends. Performs details analysis on current and future trends related but not limited to; technology, food, beverage, service, guest, labor and the overall economy. Summarizes findings and proactive applicable recommendations to leadership team.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Performs business case analysis of existing programs and proposals that build brand market positioning.
Performs business case analysis of new programs and proposals that build brand market positioning.
Screens business trends by analyzing market strategies; requirements, evaluating options, and recommending internal prioritization.
Provides input on company short and long-term operational strategies and positions by examining risks on the business.
Supports implementation of corrective actions and procedure improvements to resolve critical issues that impact the company’s overall results.
Protects the company and its assets by keeping information confidential.
Updates industry knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, and maintaining industry networks.
Oversees key performance indicator reports that cover financial and service performance.
Weekly and monthly reporting activities
Supporting the Forecast and Budgeting processes including updating and building models in Excel
Periodic adhoc analysis to support decision-making (e.g., sales promotions, labor and COGS analysis, ROI and investment analysis, etc.)

Skills/Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent
2+years of analyst experience; retail, hospitality preferred
Knowledge of retail or restaurant industry operations
Experience analyzing financial, operational and systems reporting
Strong financial, budgetary, and cost control practices
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and determine effective solutions
Analytical, organized and hands-on problem-solving skills that support and enable sound strategic decision making
Strong influencing and negotiation skills necessary to influence management to take appropriate actions on recommendations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate documentation and reports; read, interpret, explain and apply information on business processes
Excellent listening skills, sound judgment and ability to act independently
Ability to travel
Proficient computer skills, including basic MS Office skills: Word, Excel, Outlook
