Job Description

 

Position Overview:

Contributes to RUI success, acting as the prevention agent, by auditing and assessing company functions and execution of all standard systems, polices and processes.  Summarizes findings, identifies trends and applicable recommendations to executive leadership. 

 Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides business risk analysis assessment and quantification processes to keep senior management appraised of long term costs of key risk indicators, and costs to implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assures the timely availability and appropriateness of assessment reporting metrics within the organization.
  • Researches and interprets regulations, quality standards and industry best practices centered on compliance of health, safety, and employment regulations.
  • Audits corporate Amex (credit card) and T&E activity, ensures a proper history file.
  • Maintains and builds expert audit history and critical files. Highlights trends and potential opportunities with brands, regions and home office.
  • Supports implementation of corrective actions and procedure improvements to resolve critical issues.
  • Builds strong relationships with the clients, facilitating the understanding and awareness of management concepts and the importance of adherence to standards of compliance.
  • Provides an independent appraisal of controls over financial integrity, operational effectiveness, IT controls, labor relations laws and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Leverage industry and technical expertise to assist restaurant management to address more effectively risks associated with their operations.
  • Reduce company costs through strategic internal audit outsourcing and co-sourcing solutions.
  • Increasing value and reducing costs of compliance related activities.
  • Identifying opportunities for the organization to effectively mitigate risk and improve business performance.
  • Utilizes and directs outside experts and service providers as necessary to plan, scope, coordinate and execute internal audit projects.
  • Provide the organization with training and technical consulting support on risk analysis assessment and quantification related issues.

 Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in responsible auditing function
  • 3+ years of audit experience  
  • Knowledge of retail or restaurant industry operations
  • Experience analyzing financial, operational and systems reporting
  • Strong financial, budgetary, and cost control practices
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and determine effective solutions
  • Analytical, organized and hands-on problem-solving skills that support and enable sound strategic decision making
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills necessary to influence management to take appropriate actions on recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate documentation and reports; read, interpret, explain and apply information on business processes
  • Excellent listening skills, sound judgment and ability to act independently
  • Ability to travel
  • Proficient computer skills, including basic MS Office skills: Word, Excel, Outlook
