ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Manager is responsible for managing capital replacement projects, multi-location projects, or specialized work that goes beyond normal maintenance, repair or scheduled task complexity.

Successful Project Managers must have a background in delivering expert, trade specific knowledge to evaluate complicated work tasks and have a firm understanding of construction and building renovation work.  Project Managers must be able to evaluate a Service Provider’s scope of work and then develop bidding documents and work plans (with timelines and milestones) to accomplish all activities on time, with quality and on budget.

They must be able to work quickly to move work through the pipeline, and must have strong communications skills to interact with other Vixxo departments as well as Clients and Service providers.  They also must understand Service providers pricing strategies to protect Vixxo’s ability to earn a reasonable margin on the work.

  • General contracting work experience
  • HVAC background
  • Previous project manager experience
  • Experience in commercial or retail construction and remodels
  • Trade license a plus
  • Deadline oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to think logically and to analyze problems
  • Ability to maintain professional relationship with vendors, clients and other FM associates
  • Ability to multi task and to take the initiative in developing and completing various work tasks
  • Ability to talk on the phone for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work independently
  • Has a strong understanding of facilities maintenance issues
  • Be self-directed and motivated
  • Be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels
  • On-call responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a fast paced work environment
