Job Description

The Field Training Specialist supports the Cooper's Hawk's restaurants and restaurant trainers by coordinating, scheduling, and delivering assigned training programs and certifications. Supports New Restaurant Openings as a backup to Field Training Manager. Serves as a subject matter expert for development of operational content. Collaborates with Learning & Development to enable the L&D strategy.   Some travel to new and existing restaurants will be required.

Major areas of responsibility include:

  • Schedule and Coordinate Training
    • Assists Field Training Manager in deployment of pilot programs
    • Supports L&D Managers with scheduling of trainer community calls/webinars
    • Assists with scheduling and conducting LRT/MID/RTM certifications
    • Coordinates MID schedules with Manager of Leadership Development
  • Deliver Training and Certification Programs
    • Presents Tastes of Training and ongoing training at restaurants as assigned
    • Deliver training programs for LRTs
  • Update Training Programs and Consults as Subject Matter Expert
    • Reports feedback on training and operations observation
    • Evaluate and review trainee survey results
    • Update materials in line with maintenance log for hourly training with operations training specialist
    • Supports updates to SOPs and other documentation about hourly training
  • Support the training function at new restaurant openings (reporting into the Field Training Manager)
    • Updates NRO material and process
    • Coordinates with Field Training Manager scheduling and communication to NRO Trainers
    • Assists Field Training Manager in coordinating travel for NRO Trainers while onsite
    • Coaches NRO Trainers
    • Delivers onsite training
    • Assists in evaluation of trainers
  • Stay current with trends, best practices and technology in the field of restaurant/hospitality training




Skills/Requirements

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Ability to travel to new restaurant openings and current restaurants, around 20-25%
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for workplace learning
  • Certification or degree in Adult Education, Workplace Learning preferred
  • Experience working in restaurant operations roles and as a restaurant trainer
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills and participant management
  • Ability to coach and develop others
  • Skilled in MS Office especially MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with project management and development of project plans
