ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Key Result #1 – Monitor portfolio of grants as assigned through compliance and financial analysis and accounting practices (approximately 75% of time).

Review Grant proposals, agreements, amendments, and extensions of grants;

Monitor and track portfolio of grants in regards to financial health and donor compliance;

Prepare and review grant financial reports for external donors;

Investigate and resolve any accounting problems and ensure that properly documented adjustments are made;

Provide support with monthly cash flow and drawdown process;

Prepare documents for annual audit process;
-
Travel to FH fields or sub offices as needed to provide training, prepare proposals and or monitor compliance.
Key Result #2 – General Support (approximately 25% of time).

Maintain shared resource sites such as Dropbox and FH Connect with up to date information in relation to grants, finance, and compliance;

Provide information requested by stakeholders in a timely manner;

Assist in developing written procedures for the various areas of the department;

Coordinate meetings, trainings and seminars as needed;

Work with other members of the department on projects as needed;

Assist the Director of Grants Finance as needed.

Accounting experience a must;

Financial analysis experience;

Project management experience;

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google systems;

Ability to travel up to 5% of time per year in the US and internationally, to insecure countries or locations;

Ability to sit at a computer for 8 hours a day doing repetitive motions on a keyboard;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in grammar usage, and proofreading;

Strong people skills;

Highly organized, and detail oriented;

Able to multi-task.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Proficiency in spoken and written English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, accounting procedures, and government regulations. Ability to communicate effectively with field staff and Donors. Bilingual a plus, Spanish or French preferred.
