Job Description

We are currently looking for an ambitious and self-motivated Geospatial Software Developer: Mobile/Web to join Patrick Engineering in one of our Geospatial Software Development team offices in Chicago, Illinois, Charlotte, North Carolina, Asheville, North Carolina, or Charlottesville, Virginia. Remote candidates will also be considered.

The Geospatial Software Developer is responsible for technical solution architecture, software design, implementation and documentation. The Geospatial Developer provides effective database and application development on Esri platform for a client base including Fortune 50 cable industry clients, Fortune 150 electric utility clients, transportation agencies, state and local government and private sector clients. This position requires a good understanding of technology trends and developments in the application and integration architecture leading to current best practices for a given technical solution. The Geospatial Developer must have exposure and demonstrated skills working within an enterprise IT/GIS setting and will provide solid technical solutions in system integration and applied spatial analysis.

Discipline Specific Overview

Web and Mobile GIS application development based on the Esri platform including ArcGIS Server (Javascript), ArcGIS Runtime SDKs (Android, .NET, iOS), Portal for ArcGIS/ArcGIS Online, Python, and .NET.
Adding client-value by assuming software development roles beyond development including: requirements gathering and analysis, functional specification, software design, testing, and deployment.
Interfacing directly with clients
Authoring project documentation
Providing technical sales support

Skills/Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Science (or related field) with significant course work or experience in GIS
3-8 years of professional experience
Proficient with ArcGIS Server APIs (Javascript, REST and Python)
Proficient using ESRI ArcGIS 10.x technology
Familiarity with ArcGIS Runtime SDK
Thorough understanding of ESRI geodatabase technology
Proficiency in .NET, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Python, Java
Database design/management skills in Oracle and SQL server; proficiency with MS SQL Server and T-SQL language
Strong technical written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to clearly communicate concepts and ideas
Experience with team development and use of source control systems (GitHub, Microsoft TFS, Subversion)
Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a multi-discipline team
