Job Description

Patrick Engineering is looking for an ambitious and energetic Electrical Engineer with a Power Systems focus to join our talented Power and Energy Team and work out of our Boston office.  The Electrical Engineer will be given the opportunity to work on exciting and cutting edge electrical power-related projects. Work assignments will be completed with training and mentoring by experienced senior staff.  The goal is to allow the electrical engineer to continually progress professionally. This role will include training, mentoring, hands-on project work, and will include travel to client sites and interaction with the internal and external project team.

Responsibilities

  • Provides electrical system analysis using SKM and ETAP power systems analysis.
  • Performs electrical design calculations under the direction of experienced engineers.
  • Performs field investigations and documentation of existing conditions.
  • Interface and collaborate with project managers and senior staff on design solutions.




Skills/Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (electrical power focus) from an accredited university.
  • 2+ years of power systems experience.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of short circuit, protective device coordination, and Arc Flash Analysis (training will be provided).
  • Excellent technical knowledge of symmetrical components and relaying applications.
  • Experience with SKM Software is desired (training will be provided).
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution systems and (switchgear, motor controls centers, circuit breakers, etc.).
  • Familiarity with electrical load flow, voltage drop, and short circuit calculation methodology is required.
  • Excellent technical communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and invest in professional development.
