Job Description

Our Phoenix, AZ office seeks a mid level Engineer, Geologist or Environmental Scientist to join their team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • With senior oversight, handles most aspects of case management/project management for retail petroleum, i.e. stations or industrial project work, i.e. terminals, refineries
  • Prepares technically accurate, complete and concise work plans based on evaluation of site data needs
  • Performs or manages the implementation of project work plans including staff briefing, scheduling, subcontractor coordination and sample collection
  • Works with and mentors junior staff to ensure all resources are in place for proper fieldwork and reporting execution
  • Develops and manages budgets, evaluates budget vs. plan and analyzes cost control efficiencies
  • Communicates with clients, third party and regulatory agents regarding project status, schedules and compliance issues
  • Ensures adherence to client and corporate contract specifications in all activities including Health, Safety, Security, and Environment
  • Performs system operation & maintenance for environmental remediation systems
  • Handles labor and construction duties based on the project requirements
  • Supervises contractors on subsurface excavations, tank removals and equipment & piping installations
  • Completes and tracks maintenance work orders and equipment/spare parts inventory.
     




Skills/Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline
  • 4-7+ years of related experience. Must include fieldwork and office based experience in environmental consulting field. Case management experience on retail petroleum or industrial projects is required
  • Must possess excellent communication and technical writing skills and be able to independently prepare a complete deliverable report with a focus on QA/QC
  • Must be mechanically inclined, and skilled at troubleshooting and repairing equipment
  • Must have working knowledge of Arizona’s environmental regulations
  • A Background Check and an Alcohol/Drug Screening are required
