Job Description

Position Summary:        

BBYO has an amazing opportunity for an experienced and talented Payroll Manager to join its Finance team to manage the bi-monthly payroll process which spans multiple states and jurisdictions and includes temporary staff, full-time and part-time staff and interns. This role is also responsible for managing and running payroll for our summer staff hired for varying lengths of time each summer to staff our summer programs.

Responsibilities:

·        Manage the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for BBYO’s bi-monthly payroll. 

·        Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws. 

·        Set up new hires in payroll and time and attendance

·        Track accruals for vacation, sick and personal leave

·        Transmit 403(b) deductions to retirement plan

·        Respond to employee inquiries relating to payroll deductions and/or wage calculations.

·        Set up new state and local jurisdictions as necessary

·        Reconcile payroll liabilities to the general ledger

·        Perform audit reconciliations on pay files

·        Manage payroll calendar and communicate as appropriate

·        Manage and update ADP tool as needed to maintain accuracy

·        Train new managers and staff on time and attendance tool

·        Partner with HR in aligning and implementing a more streamlined, user-friendly payroll and benefits system. 

·        Run ad hoc reporting as needed for the HR department

·        Understand and manage ACA reporting requirements using ADP or other similar tool

·        Other accounting or HR administrative duties as assigned

·        Establish policies and procedures for the payroll function.  

Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s degree

·        Experience with ADP

·        Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel

·        Ability to manage a large workload and handle multiple priorities while remaining detail oriented

·        Understanding of FLSA, ACA and other related employment laws

·        5-7 years of prior experience running payroll in a complex environment
