Job Description

As a Material Handler with Western Graphics & Data, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy of productions and raw materials throughout the facility.  The incumbent will schedule and coordinate the efficient distribution of products and raw materials, in order to support production and meet customer requirements.  The incumbent will aslo be responsible for assisting with loading and unloading trucks and moving material within the warehouse to and from the loading platform.  The position requires the operation of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, computers, and scanners.

This full time position will be expected to work 4:00 p.m.  - 4:00 a.m., Wednesday - Friday with alternating Satrudays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with a small team; must be flexible on coverage, if required.
  • Responsible for the integrity of products and ray materials throughout the facility.
  • Ensure customer requirements for inventory management are being adhered to.
  • Enter record of material being moved in and out of the warehouse into inventoy software on a daily basis.
  • Operate forklift and power jacks safely observing all safety rules, utilizing horns and maintaining proper speeds.
  • Complete daily updates, cycle counts, and adjustments of inventories.
  • Stage all raw materials for orders at production equipment in a timely manner.
  • Maintain regular and frequent communication with Production Supervisors to ensure necessary raw materials and product are available for shift.
  • Perform shipping and recieving functions, as needed; wrapping and banding pallets, loading and unloading trucks, preparing appropriate shipping documents and enter receipts into inventory.
  • Shred damaged cards following established guidelines and prepare Certificates of Destruction for customers.
  • Oversee shredding by contracted vendors.
  • Manage and protect customer data according to established guidelines.
  • Cross train for shipping activities to provide adequate back-up for shipping staff.
  • Develop, review, and revise written procedures and work instructions.
  • Audit inventory paperwork for accuracy.
  • Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Use all designated Personal Protective Equipment, as required.

Skills/Requirements

Education

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Desired: Associate's Degree in Business or related field

 

Experience

  • One (1) year in warehouse and/or shipping role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Radio Frequency Scanner (RFS) system (preferred)
  • UPS Worldship and/or Fed Ex ShipManager software (preferred)

  • Ability to become certified on a forklift 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, internet research).
