Job Description

Summary: 

The Shipping Supervisor will report to the Director of Operations. This person will be responsible for maintaining shop floor control, system accuracy of inventory, management of warehouse personnel, coordination of multiple warehouse operations, inventory control and the night delivery operation.

Essential Functions

  • Hire, train, motivate and manage warehouse and driver personnel to provide accurate and timely services for the receipt and delivery of materials.
  • Training of all inventory users to ensure accurate and timely transactions are consistently applied.
  • Responsible to interact with other departments to resolve problems and improve process flow.
  • Responsible for ensuring daily maintenance (i.e. warehouse cleanliness and organization) is performed adequately and housekeeping standards are satisfied at all times.
  • Responsible for providing detailed, honest and objective performance reviews on time.
  • Responsible for providing a safe working environment for warehouse personnel and ensuring timely resolution of any unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Responsible to track and monitor key performance indicators for the warehouse operation and to take corrective action when necessary.
  • Communication of information to warehouse personnel and communication of issues to management.
  • Perform detailed process flow analysis and to implement recommendations to improve department operations through waste elimination and streamlined operations.
  • Establish, monitor and report key measurements to improve departmental performance.
  • Create reports to routinely measure performance and identify potential problems.
  • Promote a team based and positive working environment.
  • Evaluate, rate, recommend and budget merit increases for warehouse personnel.

 





Skills/Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Previous experience with managing inventory, cycle counting and executing work orders.
  • Equivalent education or experience may be substituted for any of the above.

  • Manages and directs a staff that includes the following positions; Drivers and Warehouse Associates.
