e-MDs is the leading developer of clinical and financial medical software solutions. We are seeking an Interface Implementation Engineer.

An Interface Implementation Engineer’s role is to guide customers through a successful implementation of e-MDs interface software. This is accomplished through technical competence, superior communication, organization, and planning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews and documents workflow and plans for Implementation with customer/vendors. Coordinates, and tracks new customer implementations.
  • Installs and configures the interface software.
  • Acquires and understands the complex nature of HL7 and IHE interface technologies.
  • Become a subject matter expert in the HL7 healthcare informatics interoperability standards and the e-MDs interface product offerings, from both a business and technical perspective.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex implementation issues in regards to interface and information exchanges. Provide interface and related workflow solutions within the guidelines of the interface team’s procedures. Demonstrates leadership to define requirements for project risk.
  • Typically manages 15 to 20 accounts simultaneously and serves as the main point of contact for the office staff during implementation phase.
  • Coordinates and performs remote installation and configuration for complex HL7 interfaces.
  • Trains clinical office staff on interface usage and ongoing maintenance for complex HL7 interfaces.
  • Develops and maintains customer relationship through phone calls, e-mail, project plans and status of project plans through the entire implementation of e-MDs interface software.
  • Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors and summarizes progress of project.
  • Consults with customer to ascertain and define the workflow need, and determine scope implementation.
  • Conducts assessment of needs and issues that arise during implementation for complex HL7 interfaces, then advises the client on alternate technical methods of solving needs or problems, or recommends technical specific solutions such as installation of alternate methods and procedures, changes in processing methods and practices, or redesign of processes and workflow.
  • Address and facilitates resolution of escalated customer related issues in a timely fashion by identifying/assessing the issue and seeking assistance from the appropriate resources.
  • Utilize Project Management best practices to drive and further develop methodology for each assigned project.
  • Clearly communicate expectations and collaborate effectively with technical support and training departments within e-MDs to exceed client expectations in implementation.
  • Utilize test environment to troubleshoot data processing issues. Perform UAT for interface release candidates.
  • Provide Tier 3 interface support.

 





Skills/Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or equivalent professional experience desired.
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server database & SQL Analysis Services technologies desired.
  • Knowledge of database systems, database design, and database implementation/normalization strategies.
  • Recommended 2 years of project management coordinating and/supporting IT business processes.
  • Technical competence a must, including basic understanding of medical and technical terminology.
  • Must possess and exude confidence and understanding of a customer's situation, while working with them to implement e-MDs interface solution.
  • Excellent organizational skills and written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter with strong sense of ownership, assertive follow-through and orientation toward results
  • Proficient working with MS Office Suite of products including but not limited to Word, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, and Project.
  • Working knowledge of Healthcare industry especially acute care services and physician office workflow
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and strong attention to details
  • Must speak and write fluent English
