Job Description

IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER

Job Summary:

Carlisle Construction Materials Incorporated, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has an immediate opening for an Improvement Engineer, at its Tooele, UT location.  The Improvement Engineer will apply engineering and Lean Six Sigma knowledge and concepts to identify, scope, and manage projects and activities that will improve process control and overall plant efficiency.  The position requires the ability to build strong working relationships and communicate effectively with plant personnel and management to effectively identify and execute the activities.  Strong analytical and problem solving skills are also required.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering knowledge to the manufacturing processes to identify improvement opportunities. 
  • Work with process owners in a manufacturing environment
  • Perform root cause analysis for process variability
  • Utilize statistical analysis and software tools to evaluate manufacturing data
  • Prepare written justifications for approved capital expenditures (ACEs)
  • Track and report project savings

 





Skills/Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is required.  Candidates must have proven experience with problem solving in a plant setting.  Strong communication skills both verbal and written are essential, along with MS Office suite knowledge.  SAP, Six Sigma, Wonderware and Minitab knowledge and experience are also required.
