Job Description

Come grow with us!  Prison Fellowship is seeking a Field Director in the North East Region that will equip and mobilize local churches in the NE Region (will cover the states of:  New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and Rhode Island) to identify specific ministry opportunities related to prisoners and their families and develop the resources to meet those needs. Build, maintain, and enhance relationships with church-based volunteers, pastors, DOC staff, prison chaplains, etc. In this role you will develop, manage, and coach teams of volunteers to meet ministry opportunities. Fostering an environment that will attract, train, motivate and retain quality, knowledgeable ministry volunteers while promoting teamwork and personal spiritual development.  Work with supervisor and other regional staff it team effort to accomplish regional goals.  Contribute to development, communication and implementation of strategic plans in assigned area.  Collaborate on logistics for special events and activities.  Submit reports and statistics in a timely matter.

Skills/Requirements

  • 3 years program management to include one year supervisory experience
  • 3+ years recruiting and managing volunteers
  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent coursework and experience
  • Strong demonstrated ability to develop personal networking relationships; basic knowledge of fundraising.
  • Excellent, proven team-building and teamwork skills
  • Intermediate computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new technology
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-racially, cross-culturally, and cross denominationally
  • Ability to base work from a home office with minimum supervision and function in regional team.
  • Mature Christian in agreement with PF’s Statement of Faith, Vision and Values
  • Satisfactory driving record and valid driver’s license – 60% travel
  • Satisfactory criminal background and credit check (PF does not discriminate against ex-offenders)
  • Subject to DOC rules and regulations / Ability to obtain and maintain in-prison access.
  • Proven and verifiable financial management skills.
