GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

Under the guidance of the Chief People Officer, the Sr. HR Business Partner is responsible for providing human resources leadership, support and services to business divisions at CommunityAmerica.  Responsible for leading and designing effective and consistent delivery of human resource programs that enhance CommunityAmerica’s vision, employee engagement, and the member experience.  The Sr. HR Business Partner will act as a business partner to management by understanding their business, goals, challenges, and needs.  This person will proactively identify issues, develop and implement HR services and solutions, as well as effectively deploy key HR initiatives for the division.  Will use an integrated approach creating human performance solutions that span all of the human resources competencies.  The Sr. Business Partner will participate and have a development role in HR projects with broad business impact such as strategic hiring, on-boarding, development and performance planning, recognition and reward communication, career development and succession planning. 

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with CommunityAmerica practices and policies.   
  • Serve as a proactive business partner through assessment, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and succession planning. 
  • Strategically work with management to provide information and develop creative solutions to increase performance and effectiveness of the division, aid with the career growth of employees, build strong business relationships with management and human resources team within the organization, and provide recommendations to strategically enhance the services provided by Human Resources Shared Services.
  • Develop, prepare, generate, and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee information and data, including but not limited to issues such as benefits, staffing levels, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, applicant tracking, promotions, compensation, etc. 
  • Provide ongoing training and facilitate management foundational programs in areas of responsibility including: performance coaching, employee relations, compliance, employee handbook guidelines, and key policies regarding employment law including, but not limited to, AA/EEO and harassment free workplace.
  • Assess and support the business in regards to organizational structure, talent strategies, and attraction and retention strategies.  Deploy business driven initiatives to support talent retention and attraction.
  • Conduct comprehensive employee relations investigations and consult with HR, management and staff to resolve issues.  Identifying key trends and metrics for improvement.  Design and implement corrective solutions.
  • Manage the application of regulations and statutes to minimize legal risk.  Conduct and direct investigations and research of employee issues in a legally defensive manner.  Support and advise management when conducting, advising, and leading investigations.
  • Develop and communicate job standards for staff and update standards as necessary.
  • Assist in management and integration of total rewards program equitably and effectively throughout the division and CommunityAmerica.
  • Administer personnel policies as stated in the employee handbook in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring and training of staff to develop and encourage their performance.  Meet with staff on a timely basis for the purpose of conducting personnel evaluations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.




Skills/Requirements

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

In this position, individual will be expected to lift up to 20 pounds from time to time.*

Also, must be able to stoop, bend, reach, or stand for extended periods of time.* Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.* Must be able to use office productivity equipment such as a printer, copy machine, laminator, etc.*

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position operates under normal office conditions and is required to travel between CommunityAmerica facilities as needed. Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish goals, objectives, and projects.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS and KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, HR Management, or equivalent work or educational experience is required.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in a HR generalist/business partner role required with five years in a leadership role.
  • Professional certification in human resources (SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP//HR/SPHR) or continuing education is preferred.
  • Proficient PC skills, including ability to develop and deliver high level presentations.
  • Excellent consulting and facilitation skills. Sound organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate directly and diplomatically with all levels of employees and outside vendors.
  • Ability to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning, visionary, and implantation skills.
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, and project management skills, with the ability to develop presentation and present ideas at both the “big picture” and detail level.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
