Job Description

As a GaVehren Machine Operator you will be responsible for operating folding/gluing/affixing equipment in a continuous production. You will also be responsible for following production/process specifications or instructions; monitoring controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications; performing all work in accordance with established safety procedures; reporting any malfunctions or abnormalities; and maintain operating and maintenance documentation.

This full time position will be expected to work 4:00 pm - 4:00 am, Wednesday - Friday with alternating Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Able to set up and operate folder/gluer (GaVehren) machines
  • Responsible for production goals and product quality
  • Fill out paperwork and enter production data accurately
  • Make sure all line workers understand their task assignment
  • Other duties as needed or assigned by Management
  • Learn all aspects of operation of GaVehren line, including setup
  • Learn to change files and to start files
  • Learn to solve problems when indicated by Vision System
  • Ability to accept direction from Trainer or Supervisor
  • Other duties as needed or assigned by Management team

 





Skills/Requirements

Education

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience

  • Two (2) years of previous machine operator experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic computer & math skills required
  • The ability to troubleshoot machine issues and repair equipment
  • Team-orientated attitude
  • Able to lift 50 lbs on a daily basis
  • Able to stand, bend for a 12 hour shift
  • Able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Mechanical principals understanding
  • Able to direct other workers on job performance and daily tasks
  • Prolonged periods of standing in a manufacturing environment
  • Stooping/bending/reaching/grasping and fine motor skills manipulation
  • Exposure to dust, noise and temperature variations in a production environment
  • Continual work in the vicinity of production machinery and motorized lift equipment
