Job Description

Carlisle Construction Materials Incorporated, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology, has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Coordinator in its Carlisle, PA location.  The HR Coordinator will be responsible for managing and facilitating HR services and guidance to managers and employees in the plant.  The HR Coordinator will be responsible for working with the Plant HR Manager and Operations Managers (Plant 4, Plant 6/TPO and CCW) to provide an employee oriented culture involving high standards related to quality, productivity, employee engagement, employee relations, safety, performance goal attainment, development and recruitment of well qualified candidates for both the salaried and hourly production world.  This individual will have responsibilities related to the implementation of company benefits, employment requirements, policies, legal compliance and employee service programs in conjunction with operations managers and the Carlisle central HR function.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidential personnel recordkeeping, medical information and legal documentation.  Hold confidences as priority.
  • Responsible for assisting staff in safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the weekly payroll process for hourly personnel (Timeclock).
  • Benefits expertise and administration.
  • Administer medical monitoring services (Hearing test, Lung function, X-rays, Blood samples, Industrial Hygiene monitoring, etc.).
  • Coordinate employee skill development and training.
  • Administer the Job Posting and Plant Seniority System requirements to ensure fair opportunity.
  • Performance Management support and training.
  • Talent Pipe Line/local labor market status.
  • Responsible for recruitment, skill assessment and hiring strategies with supervisors for hourly production positions.
  • Support the plants employee engagement efforts.  Foster teamwork, team accomplishments and encourage involvement and interaction among team members across the workforce.
  • Provide resources for assisting staff with developing a workforce involving performance plans, company goals, and improvement systems.  Develop training and people development resources and programs with input from staff.  Requires collaboration and partnering.  Assist leadership with assessment, growth and development of highly skilled workforce.
  • Facilitate cross training with administrative staff.
  • Responsible for communicating with staff and employees on employee orientation process, company benefit programs and all company communications.
  • Handbook policy management.
  • Work closely with Carlisle Human Resources function for input and guidance with corporate benefits, policies and recommendations for improvement.
  • Administer current employee service programs (Awards, food service, uniforms, safety shoes, etc.).
  • Work with management in developing social events and employee activities with Carlisle policies and guidance.
  • Plant floor presence for employee concerns with open door policy.
  • Provide HR counseling and listening ear for employees.  Facilitate fair problem solving process in conjunction with leadership team.

Skills/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree is required in HR or related field.  1-3 years of experience in a similar role is highly preferred.  Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements and safety efficiencies in manufacturing is required (OSHA, FLSA, ADA, Workers Comp, Unemployment, etc.).  The ability to build partnerships, interact and communication at all levels within the company, as well as the ability to adjust to different situations is required.  Microsoft Office knowledge is essential.
