The Line Cook is responsible for a particular station or group of menu items, their proper preparation, set up and execution. The culinary work in this position must follow Bon Appétit’s commitment to sustainability, proper health and safety guidelines.
Review the production list with the Manager and prepare menu items according to standards
Properly store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating and labeling procedures.
Maintain a clean work area along with equipment and utensils.
Utilize approved food production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
Interact with co-workers to ensure compliance with company service standards.
Set up station and maintain section in time for service.
Properly break down and clean station after service.
Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner; resolve customer concerns.
Notify manager of food quality issues, safety and customer service concerns.
Follow all food production and presentation standards in Great Expectations
Comply with all sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements.

Demonstrate competence in basic culinary techniques including but not limited to: braising, sauteing, grilling and steaming.
Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of all kitchen equipment.
Demonstrate ownership of designated station to include: production, set-up, service and break-down.
Complete Bon Appetit/Google Sustainability Training.
Strong passion and motivation to create great food that follows the Bon Appetit Sustainability commitments
Demonstrate general culinary knowledge of basic kitchen practices, protocols and procedures.
1 year experience in restaurant or food service kitchen.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Understand of culinary units of measure.
Ability to work safely with large volume culinary equipment including but not limited to slicer, large quantity mixer, robo coupe, and convection ovens.
Ability to follow all Bon Appétit / Google Health & safety standards.
Meet Bon Appétit unit specific uniform standards for this position.
Utilize all Personal Protective Equipment’s per Bon Appétit/Google guidelines.
Wear a cut resistant glove whenever using a sharp or potentially sharp tool or instrument.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
ServSafe Food Handler Certification required
Culinary Certificate or Degree Preferred
