Timmons Group is seeking an experienced GIS Programmer/Analyst with Project Management Skills to perform work on site and a client location in the Greater Richmond area. This is a Temporary 40 hour per week position that is anticipated to last through June 2014.

Skills/Requirements include but are not limited to the following:

  • Experience with ESRI GIS Software, including ArcGIS Server and Enterprise Geodatabases.
  • Performing data manipulation and configuration tasks in a SQL Server or Oracle database environment.
  • Documenting best practices to be followed by client maintenance staff.
  • Managing and creating ArcGIS services.
  • Script and process automation experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong active listening, feedback and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to document concisely best practices for data management including workflows, tools, governance models, and integration patterns.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of team with excellent time management skills to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical literature and source documents. 
  • Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to apply computer and technology knowledge toward solving assigned tasks and activities.
  • Participating in meetings with client staff to fully understand expected project outcomes.
  • Working cooperatively with Project Managers and peers to complete assigned work.
  • Requires minimal direction in daily operation and problem resolution.


Additional Desired Skills and Capabilities include:

  • Familiarity with HTML 5,
  • Knowledge of server-side ESRI products (ArcGIS Server) versions 9.3.1 and 10
  • Skills with iOS/Android/Mobile JavaScript development
  • Visual Studio/C# /.Net Development
  • IIS/Web Development
