Job Description

Octo Consulting Group is seeking a PeopleSoft HCM Business/Quality Assurance Analyst with 6-9 years of relevant experience to join our team.   Resource must be flexible and thrive in an Agile and highly-collaborative environment.

Business Analyst: 

  • Elicit requirements fora 9.1 PeopleSoft Human Capital Management system using interviews, document analysis, requirements sessions, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis.
  • Create functional requirements documents, design presentations, and design documentations as needed
  • Update and manage requirements using HP Application Lifecycle Management Quality Center
  • Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and policy/legislation and translate them into application and operational requirements

Quality Assurance Analyst:

  • Lead an effort to transition the software testing approach from manual testing into an automated testing model using HP Quick Test Pro. Activities include developing a transition strategy, automating manual test scripts, executing automated test scripts to support the release testing cycle, and proposing and implementing methods to maximize the value of HP Quick Test Pro.
  • Develop and execute test cases and manual test scripts as needed to support the release testing cycle.
  • Interact in a collaborative fashion with the development team to ensure delivery of quality software products.
  • Use problem solving skills to break down complex situations to discover and resolve root causes.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical issues related to defects and enhancements.
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously, including end-to-end application testing.
  • Collaborate with business users, analysts, and developers to resolve complex defects or issues.

Skills/Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in requirements gathering, requirements analysis, and requirements development
  • 3+ years of experience using PeopleSoft HCM, experience with the Human Resource module and the Payroll for North America module strongly preferred
  • 1-2 years’ experience in hands-on manual testing
  • 1+ years’ experience in automated testing using HQ Quick Test Pro/Unified Functional Testing
  • Relevant experience clearly documenting defect information to include analysis, steps to reproduce, and suggested fixes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Hands on experience using SQL or PeopleSoft Query 
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communications skills.
  • Hands on experience testing and/or configuring PeopleSoft HCM, version 9.1 experience preferred
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed to achieve results.
  • Demonstrated track record of analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Organized, motivated and demonstrate the ability to work under minimal supervision to achieve desired objectives.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and provide solutions
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical information

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
