Job Description
The Program Director of Learning & Development will work with Vista and Portfolio Executives to optimize on-boarding and training programs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Partner with Portfolio Company L&D staff to create and implement boot camp training programs for key functional areas (Sales, Dev and QA, Support, and PS).
- Provide oversight for all portfolio wide content creation.
- Manage L&D related systems and processes.
- Consult with HR or L&D staff to create on-boarding program for all employees.
- Evaluate and negotiate key vendor contracts as necessary to deliver appropriate services. Determine “build vs. buy” justification as appropriate.
- Work with portfolio companies on setting and monitoring program effectiveness metrics.
- Partnering with internal VCG recourses to implement all training related VSOPs and continuous improvement to those VSOPs.
- Creating strategic direction for L&D function.
- Ensuring that all portfolio L&D functions meet all of their organizational objectives in support of broader value creation at our portfolio companies.
- Manage and direct the VCG L&D Consulting team.
Skills/Requirements
- A minimum of a 4 year degree with a Masters in applicable field preferred.
- Strong leadership and learning capabilities with a solid emphasis on the implementation and execution of "best in class" learning.
- A proven track record of accomplishments with respect to the ownership of an "on-boarding" process.
- Experienced program manager with experience leading the design, development and delivery of adult learning solutions and interventions.
- A successful assignment in a corporate or consulting environment, leveraging learning and development profit and loss accountability.
- A solid track record in the selection, production management and measurement of external vendors.
- Strong business and financial acumen is critical.
- Must have excellent project management skills focused on overseeing resources, timelines, budgets and project delivery.
- The successful candidate must have the ability to travel domestically (Travel estimated to be 25% or more including limited international travel).
- Proven facilitation skills with capability to quickly adjust to changes in direction.
- Experience in application of learning measurement tools including business impact and return on investment.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and meet multiple customer needs.
