Job Description

 

The Regional HSE Manager will provide HSE leadership and technical support to the geographical site(s) assigned and support the application of the HSE procedures, programs and standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, in alignment with our North America Operations, the process for annual review of HSE performance & management system.
  • Identify and draft HSE initiatives with the focus on execution and KPIs.
  • Lead and support the local group in delivering a continual improvement in the HSE culture at the workplace.
  • Ensures the HSE commitment of local management in order to implement processes to achieve compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations, while maintaining company standards.
  • Ensure training programs are developed, modified and implemented as required.
  • Ensure specialized HSE training is provided as necessary.
  • Coach, support and assist management to establish processes to recognize potential hazards and at-risk behaviors.
  • Promote Health, Safety and Environmental awareness and responsibility through safety meetings, communications, onsite visits and training programs.
  • Coach, support and instruct management to achieve a high level of Health, Safety and Environmental capabilities resulting in an integrated approach to safe operations.
  • Encourage active participation by all employees in Health, Safety and Environmental processes, including company and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze incident and injury/illness data for targeted HSE activities.
  • Conducts or directs research studies to identify hazards and evaluate loss producing potential of a given system, operation or process.
  • Ensures completion of investigation of severe incidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for the organization’s use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
  • Compiles and submits reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Represents the organization in customer, community or industry safety groups and programs.
  • Familiar with IMPACT utilization.
  • Familiar with TAPROOT® methodology

  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year College or University.
  • Minimum of 10 years working experience in a Health, Safety, and Environmental leadership role within the Oil and Gas industry. 

   

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Prefer significant experience with executing/delivering change management.
  • Ability to use and interact with specific HSE software (Example: IMPACT).
  • Experience with NESHAPS.
  • Experience or working knowledge of SEMS, PSM, and RMP.
  • Prefer recognized safety and/or environmental management certifications (e.g. Certified Safety Professional, Certified Environment Practitioner, Certified Environmental Engineer)
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheet functions.  An intermediate or advanced understanding of the Microsoft suite of software programs (word, excel, outlook and power point).

 

Physical Strain:

  • Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
