Job Description

Fab is looking for an exceptionally motivated and talented general manager to lead its Hard Goods business (furniture, lighting, casegoods, etc.). The successful candidate will be responsible for growing both the top line and bottom line business. S/he will have full end-to-end business ownership and P&L responsibility. This role spans across buying, sourcing, design, inventory management, pricing, selection, promotions and marketing to own an entire product category. S/he will be responsible for managing the day-to-day of the category as well as to plan the strategy for the category. The role will partner with functional leaders from marketing, creative, product technology and operations to deliver the best customer experience. This is a great opportunity to join Fab in a leadership position and help drive our business forward.


The Team

Photography is a fast growing team within our Creative team. It’s made up of Studio, Styling, and Studio Operations. Over the course of 2014 we’re investing heavily in our Photography team to bring our designer’s work to life with a touch of Fab color and heart.

The Creative team is a high-energy group of tastemakers, writers, and designers. Included in this organization are teams dedicated to Designer Development, Art Direction, Editorial and Content Voice, English and German Editorial, In-House Creative Services, Graphic Design, Photography, and Videography. This is the voice and the visuals of Fab working closely with Marketing, Merchandising and Sourcing to show products, collections, and curations to our customers.


The Role

We’re looking for a Lead Photographer to work within the Studio team to produce a selection of high quality product, lifestyle, and environmental fashion and home images.

As the manager of our team of photographers you’ll work closely with our Photography Director and Photography Art Director as well as our team of Stylists and Studio Operations to capture on-brand still life and on model imagery of a variety of men’s and women’s fashion apparel, accessories, shoes, and jewelry as well as interior and still life imagery of a wide variety of items including furniture, rugs, bedding, art, and decorative home accessories.

Your Responsibilities

  • To manage a team of photographers and photography assistants
  • To ensure all images are on-brand, editorial, commercial and executed to the highest of standards
  • To develop our photography guidelines in collaboration with the Photography Director and the Photography Art Director
  • To execute shoots in studio, at our warehouse, and offsite
  • To work with the team to define seasonal direction for photography
  • To be up to date with cutting edge equipment, methodologies, and styles. 
  • To lead the team in identifying, sourcing, and maintaining lighting, grip, and digital equipment
  • To ensure that all studio space is appropriately set up and maintained
  • To report regularly on the workflow, equipment, and set requirements of your team
  • To support the Photography Director in a range of ad hoc projects including mood boards, creative briefs, and model castings



We’re looking for a professional photographer with a shared passion and belief in our point of view of Everyday Design.  A broad portfolio of studio and creative work and experience of managing a team is a must.      

  • A professional portfolio of lifestyle photography spanning fashion and home and campaign photography
  • B.A degree required
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in Photography
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in managing a team
  • A sound technical understanding of what makes a great image
  • Still life and prop styling experience, working with different sets and exploring new photographic situations and environments
  • Ability to take creative direction, to be flexible in your approach and easily adapt to working with new teams
  • Personality to conduct a room of people – to inspire and motivate in order to create a great image
  • Extremely organized with the ability to manage a schedule and meet deadlines
  • High energy and excellent attention to detail
