The New Jewish Home, Home Assistance Personnel, Inc (HAPI)
If you’re someone who enjoys helping people with compassion, patience, and takes great pride in helping others, then we would like to meet with you! The New Jewish Home, HAPI is a people-oriented organization that truly values the important and hard work that a Home Health Aide (HHA) does. We are looking for a selected few to attend our FREE HHA training program.
Position: Trainee, Home Health Aide (HHA)
Training program overview: Students will receive a FREE hands-on Home Health Aide training which will include but is not limited to intensive, comprehensive, and specialty skills, safe work practices, rules and regulations. Certification will be awarded to students who successfully complete the 18 day (M-F 9-5pm) HHA training program.
We are currently accepting walk-in applicants: Monday through Friday from 9AM to 3PM.

What to bring: Please bring two forms of ID (e.g. state/federal ID, social security card, passport, etc), two references and proof of flu vaccination. No flu vaccine? No problem, if hired we will provide flu vaccine for free!
We offer JOB PLACEMENT within our organization to students whom successfully complete the training program!
We have assignments in: MANHATTAN, BRONX, BROOKLYN, QUEENS, and WESTCHESTER.
Shifts available:
- 24 Hour/Live-in assignments (sleep-in assignments).
- 12 Hour DAY Shift
- 8 Hour DAY Shift
- 4-6 Hour DAY Shift
- Ask about assignments in Westchester that pay $13.00 an hour!
Bilingual Spanish is a plus!

Skills/Requirements
- Legally authorized to lawfully work in the U.S.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Complete and pass HHA training program (HHATP) entrance exam.
- 100% attendance is required in order to complete the HHATP.
- Job placement: availability and flexibility to work Monday through Friday and alternating weekends on replacement and permanent assignments as needed.
- Complete medical assessment, including but not limited to drug screen (free).
- Clearance to work from Department of Health and complete background check.
- Current influenza vaccine (flu shot) documentation or be willing to receive the vaccine for free from HAPI.
- Two references.
- Ability to pay for training program text book ($25).
